Itinerary
Begin your journey just south of Perth. Join the dedicated volunteers at FAWNA, a non-profit founded in 1984. FAWNA’s volunteers provide great care to orphaned, wounded, and abandoned wildlife. Your tasks may include cleaning enclosures, gardening, or tree planting, allowing you to connect with the region’s diverse wildlife, including Western Ringtail Possums, kangaroos, birds, and reptiles.
Continue to Busselton, a major tourist destination known for its 1.8 km 19th-century jetty extending into the Geographe Bay. Go on a walk along this historic jetty.
Travel a bit further to Ngilgi Cave Ancient Lands, an immersive above and below-ground experience. Explore the Ngilgi Cave on a 45-minute semi-guided tour, uncovering 600 million years of history related to the land and its inhabitants. Above ground, immerse yourself in the land’s creation, cave formations, cultural connections, and local flora and fauna during a walk-through natural bushland. Enjoy a picnic lunch before taking in the world-famous Margaret River area, visiting cellar doors for wine samples. Finally, settle in at our campground. Today’s drive covers approximately 320 km.

Go off on a 7-kilometer walk along the Cape-to-Cape Track, starting from Conto’s and reaching Redgate Beach. Take a refreshing swim before heading to Margaret River municipality. Explore the charming main street with its unique stores, galleries, and various lunch options.
Continue your journey south through the woodlands of the Walpole Wilderness Region. Witness the majestic 65-meter-tall Bicentennial Tree in Warren National Park’s old-growth karri forest. Brave climbers can climb the 165 pegs to the summit for incredible views. Tonight, pitch your tent at Peaceful Bay, enjoying the ocean’s sunset and campfire stories under the stars.

After breakfast, we’ll head to William Bay National Park for a refreshing swim in the Greens Pool with its blue water and pristine white beach. Take some time to relax and enjoy your meal before continuing along the coastline to Albany. Witness the awe-inspiring natural rock sculptures and granite cliffs at The Natural Bridge and The Gap, shaped by years of erosion.
Next, we’ll head to the Porongorups, rising like an island from the landscape. Walk atop the 1,100-million-year-old Castle Rock, surrounded by dense Karri and Marri tree forests. Experience the breathtaking views from the suspended Granite Skywalk. We’ll then travel through the Stirling Ranges to our overnight campground.
Today’s driving distance covers approximately 240 km.

Your journey continues towards Esperance, where red soil will give way to stunning blue waters. This Western Australian region boasts nine national parks and some of the most incredible beaches.
In Esperance, enjoy your meal before starting the Dabungool Cultural Experience. Join native Wudjari Nyungar mother and daughter for a 90-minute seaside walk, discovering the Wudjari people’s six seasons, bushfood, and medicinal plants that have sustained them for millennia. Enjoy a scenic drive along the Great Ocean Drive, stopping for a swim at Twilight Beach.
Heading east to Cape Le Grand National Park, we’ll set up camp in Lucky Bay, surrounded by blue oceans and squeaky white sands. The rest of the day is yours to explore the untamed terrain or simply relax on the beach.
Today’s travel distance is approximately 525 km, with several breaks along the way.

Witness sunrise as friendly western grey kangaroos greet you on the beach. Get ready to explore one of Australia’s most biodiverse areas, a remarkable national park with bushland and beaches and coves. Learn about the diverse flora and fauna as you swim, trek, or relax on the beach.
In the afternoon, go on a trek, climbing Frenchman Peak for a breathtaking sunset view on our last night together.

Get ready for an action-packed day. We’ll start early, covering a lot of ground. Our first stop will be in a typical outback village for our lunch. Then, visit the 2,700-million-year-old Wave Rock, a natural granite wonder rising 15 meters above the ground, offering a must-see photo opportunity.
Afterwards, we’ll continue our journey to the mediaeval municipality of York, surrounded by stunning landscapes. Explore the historic Rabbit-Proof Fence, built between 1901 and 1907 to protect Western Australia from agricultural pests from the east.
Finally, we’ll reach Perth at around 6.30 p.m., having driven approximately 780 km with breaks along the way.
